Portable Workstation (PACS)
PACS offers the functions of a full featured vibration analyzer and a test lab shaker controller. The PACS system provides test engineers the convenience of acquiring and analyzing vibration signals directly as they occur in the field. The small size, ruggedness, AC/DC input power, bright flat LCD display, Pentium processor and large storage capacity make it ideally suited for transporting and utilizing in field environments.
A cigarette lighter adapter for DC input power is especially useful for in-vehicle operation. The optional signal conditioner (AC/DC input power) provides conditioned acceleration signals for charge and voltage type transducers. Internal acquisition and DSP processing boards perform immediate realtime signal analysis (4,8,16 channel configurations) in the time and frequency domain (FFT, PSD, SRS & Waterfall). Signal data can also be stored in the frequency or time domain for further analysis at a later time.
Back in the test lab, the other PACS functions are put to work. The saved data can be further analyzed or exported to ASCII, UFF or Bit Map Graphics format for use with other application programs. However, unlike other limited data acquisition systems that can perform analysis only, the PACS system provides important utilities to further process the field data. The data can be filtered, truncated, smoothed, rescaled, and re-sampled, as desired, to create more meaningful vibration tests, that best simulate actual field conditions. Three types of vibration tests may be created including Random PSD spectrum tests, Shock pulse waveforms, and long duration time waveforms. These tests can be used for defining product development & qualification tests, accelerated life tests, screening tests, and to reproduce failures. PACS can then be used with a shaker system to control the vibration as defined by the newly created test. By combining portable vibration analysis, test creation and test control, PACS offers test solutions with lower equipment costs, reduced engineering test time and improved test definitions! |
