Replacement Amplifiers

Unholtz-Dickie offers a full line of high performance Class D switching power amplifiers, as replacements for older water-cooled linear amplifiers or vacuum tube amplifiers. These amplifiers, designated as the “SA & SAI series”, utilize the latest in component technology, resulting in high efficiency and additional cost savings. Configurable from 15 to 480 KVA, these replacement amplifiers help extend the life of existing shaker equipment.
 

Vwin II Vibration Control and Analysis System

The Vwin II is one of the world’s most advanced vibration control systems designed to meet the challenges and needs of the 21st Century. The Vwin II is based on a standard Pentium 4 workstation utilizing Windows XP Operating Systems, and is configured for 4, 8 or 16 channel operation. It offers the latest technology in digital signal processing and shaker control algorithms providing real time vibration test control for random, sine, shock, SRS, random on random, multi-tone sine on random, TRAC (time replication acceleration control) vibration testing and transducer calibration, as well as extensive data acquisition and analysis.
 

LS Series Long Stroke Thruster Test Systems

Unholtz-Dickie's first thruster systems (Model 4X and 6X) evolved from UD's modal systems in the 1980's. The more recently developed LS Series provides superior performance for transient applications that require from 8 to 24 inch pk-pk displacement. The LS Series is used in many different applications from airbag development and fuel cut-off switches to transportation testing. Coupled with the powerful SA Series power amplifier, the LS Series can produce extremely high velocity changes, up to 45 MPH. Two sliding platforms are offered to interface with the test payload.
 

Horizontal Slip Table Assemblies

Unholtz-Dickie offers two configurations for fully integrated slip table assemblies; the ST Series and the CSTA Series. Both systems are used for three axis sequential testing (x, y, z axes) or used when it is necessary to maintain product positioning with respect to gravity. The ST Series base is comprised of thick steel plates with multiple supporting members providing a rigid and sturdy platform for most test items. The CSTA Series provides additional bulk and rigidity using a concrete filled base and is recommended for applications that include heavy payloads and large low frequency stroke requirements. A special trunnion gear assembly allows the shaker to be easily rotated between vertical and horizontal orientation.
 

Head Expanders

Unholtz-Dickie offers a wide range of head expanders and head plates to maximize the versatility of any electrodynamic shaker. The head expanders are manufactured from light-weight magnesium alloys, providing high strength-to-weight ratio. By increasing the mounting area of the shaker, multiple items can be tested at the same time, decreasing total test cycle time. In addition, with Guided Head Expanders, payloads with large foot prints can be safely mounted and tested on the shaker, minimizing the risk of damage to the shaker suspension system. Utilizing average or extremal control techniques allows operation of many of these head expanders to 2000 Hz.
 

Transducer Calibrator Systems

Companies that require calibration of accelerometers and velocity transducers have relied on Unholtz-Dickie Calibrators for many years. The Models 660C and 680C provide the latest technology in simple Windows-based automated and NIST traceable calibration for a wide range of voltage and charge type accelerometers and velocity transducers. Two complete systems are offered based on transducer size, amplitude and displacement requirements. These systems include the complete calibrator shaker/amplifier, precision signal conditioner, swept and discrete frequency sine controller, reference accelerometer, back-to-back mounting hardware and cabling. A key component is the Vwin II Controller which can also be used with an existing calibration shaker system.
 

Instrumentation

Instrumentation is an important subset of a complete vibration test system. Unholtz-Dickie has developed a variety of instruments and sensors that complete the total system.

All UD systems components are designed, assembled, warranted and serviced by UD. The amplifier/shaker equipment is fully integrated and tested together with the Vwin II controller prior to shipment. This ensures, not only the individual system components operation (amplifier, shaker, slip table, controller, signal conditioner, etc.) but also overall system performance. The combined testing of the amplifier/shaker, together with the controller, is absolutely critical to guarantee full system ratings (sine, random, shock) and smooth integration and operation at the customer site.
